MRI (Magnetic Resonance Image) has been recognized as an established image guidance tool for a minimally invasive therapy in recent years. We have developed a novel MR -image guided surgical system for endoscopic surgery in the closed bore MRI. Using a new real-time MR image guided surgical system, endoscopic surgical procedures can be performed with endoscopic images and real-time MR image combination. In this talk, I would like to present our new surgical system of MR image-guidance and a concept of clinical applications.

Shigeyuki Naka is lecturer of Department of Surgery, Shiga University of Medical Science, Japan. His research interests are Minimally Invasive Surgery, MR Image Guided Therapy and Robotic Surgery.
